About Us

George Yeo, Jack Neo, Joanne Peh, Tracy Phillips and George Quek will be contributing regularly to a joint blogsite called www.blogkaki.sg. This is a little experiment which will be revisited in a year’s time.  The site will carry postings in English and Chinese. George Yeo will continue to post occasionally on Harold Fock’s BeyondSg site.
www.blogkaki.sg was first mooted early this year when George Yeo discussed with Jack the idea of blogging together.   George had known Jack since Liang Po Po days in the 90’s.  For some time, Jack had told George that he would be happy to help him in whatever way he could. Both of them felt it would be interesting to provide social commentary on Singapore society from different perspectives.  George then asked George Quek, another old friend, whether he would like to join them.  George Quek had never blogged before but he was intrigued and agreed over lunch at Ding Tai Fung.

Joanne and Tracy were introduced by George Yeo’s young supporters.  Like Jack, Joanne has her own blogsite and is the ‘baby’ in the family. Tracy worked at Zouk for more than 10 years.  She is a keen observer of new social trends in Singapore.
Each member of the group will blog separately. The site will be hosted by Vincent Ha whom I got to know from the Berlin Wall project.  Vincent has just graduated from SMU and was the valedictorian speaker.  From time to time, the 5 bloggers will comment on each other’s postings.  They intend to meet regularly over dinner.  Jack has offered to host the next dinner at his house which will feature ‘the best chili crabs’.

Welcome to Blogkaki!

I've been linked to Mr George Yeo through my Uncle and Aunt Robert and Meili Hefner, and I now know Jack Neo through the recent trip to Italy. This blog will be more personal to me! You bet I will visit it more regularly.

I will be attending the unveiling of Berlin Wall in January. See you there Mr Yeo!

    Cheers,
    Charlotte
